6.2.1

The institutional perspective plan is effectively deployed and functioning of the institutional bodies is effective and efficient as visible from policies, administrative setup, appointment, service rules, and procedures, etc

  • In accordance with the vision the strategic perspective plan is prepared for five years focusing on eight areas namely teaching learning, research, student support, employee development, innovation and entrepreneurship, infrastructure, sports excellence and community engagement.

  • To provide support services to faculty an independent academic unit a called teaching and learning centre is established. The cell promotes good practices in teaching and learning and evolved policies that every faculty of the institute has to follow.

  • Research being an integral part of teaching institute focuses on supporting faculty to pursue their research. The head of the R&D centre ensures that the policies with respective paper publications, conferences etc are well disseminated to the faculty and are effectively deployed. Faculty are given special incentives for their paper publications in the respective quartile. So far from the inception of the policy 1691 papers are published and an amount of Rs.93,77,191/- was given as incentives.

  • A separate cell for training and placement plans and implements all activities for the student support. To support students who excel in sports a policy is in place to provide financial assistance. Every year ten students are given scholarship to a tune of Rs.1.3 crore who excel in sports at the national level.

  • Policy to encourage and support faculty to attend workshops for their professional growth is in place.

  • As per the National Innovation and Startup Policy Entrepreneurship promotion and development was one of the dimensions in the strategic planning (2020-25). A clear entrepreneurial vision and mission statements are defined. To foster the Innovation &Entrepreneurial culture a separate center is established (CIE) headed by the dean. A policy is framed that is applicable to the entire institute. In order to build up the cross-departmental connection faculty from every department is chosen to be member. Strategic advices are sought from wadhwani foundation, T-hub. So far from CIE 14 Student Startups are registered, 45 IPR are generated, 74 Innovations are supported 47 Design Thinking and Innovation workshops conducted, 32 Entrepreneurship, 21 Competitions & Hackathons are conducted. MLRIT was one among 4 other institutes to have hosted the grand finale of smart India hackathon 2020. For supporting pre-incubation, incubation infrastructure and facilities a separate amount is earmarked in the budget.

  • The principal is the head of the institute who is supported by Deans, heads of the departments, controller of examinations and other heads in smooth functioning of the institute. The other committee heads are nominated to oversee the functioning of various activities like time table committee, Attendance committee, Transport committee, cultural and extracurricular committee etc.

  • At every level autonomy is granted in the functioning of the department / centre / unit. All the appointments are ratified by the governing body. The service rules are explained during the faculty induction program to the newly appointed faculty.

  • IQAC is an integral part of the institute’s management system which strategically plans and implements for all quality matters. It is a participative and facilitative cell that works closely with faculty members in implementing the best practices.

  • Administration:
  • In order to manage day-day business activities an Erp platform for automating and handling student and staff information and administrative data is in place. The Erp generates the attendance records for payroll and salary processing. It gives easy and quick access to information about students, staff, and timetables. The faculty can manage their leave adjustments. Leave approval and sanctions are automated eliminating the paper work. In order to minimize the paper usage 80% of communication is done by the emails and website notifications.To generate, supervise resolve the issues related to civil, carpentry, electrical, network, computers, and hostel facilities, general amenities a ticketing system has been developed and implemented. Any student, staff can raise a ticket for the above issues which will be diverted to be concerned department and resolve in one day's time/the earliest time.


  • Finance and Account:
  • To keep a track of financial transactions Tally Erp9 is used in the institute .Book keeping of all transactions, including creating and maintaining invoices and bill wise payment information is done in Tally. As a part of digitalization biometric attendance is introduce to all the staffs in the year 2011. It is mandatory for all the staffs to mark their attendance on the biometric attendance devices. The intellect Erp is deployed to monitor the attendance and generate the pay slip. The management takes data decisions with reports about staff status, daily attendance summary, early and late arrivals etc.In order to reduce the time and energy payment gate ways is used to accept payments.


  • Student admission and support:
  • Guidance for the student admission process is given through the college web portal. Student can get information related to admission procedure, fee structure, branches offered, and campus life support system. Information related to fee payment, time tables, circulars, events is available in a portal. Quick links to anti ragging, transport facilities etc are available. There is one special attraction for the student using library. Apart from online public access catalog (OPAC) which eases the search, a student can also reserve a book from home/anywhere and get it issued the next day.In order to create manage and deliver online teaching Google LMS is used by all the faculty members. The faculties are able to go paperless and centralize the e-learning material in one cloud based location.


  • Examination:
  • To stream line and improve the efficiency of examination cell Bees Erp has been deployed in the institute. The BET (Bees Examination Tool) is used for examination cell automation. It is used for preparation of exam time table, Hall ticket, seating plan, D-forms automatically. After the examination is completed Scanning, coding and digital evaluation (Remote answer script evaluation) is done with BET plus. Marks scanning, result, re-evaluation, auto posting to the web portal is done automatically. The OBE under Bees provides complete support for automatically calculating the outcomes and attainments at various levels. The results are made available in the student login as well are sent as sms to the parent as well as student.
